Coding agents & CLIcontinuedev

continue

An open coding agent as a VS Code extension, JetBrains plugin and CLI. The repo is frozen: version 2.0.0 was the final release, and the code now serves as a reference.

Who it is for

For people studying how AI IDE extensions are built, or forking a ready codebase.

How to start

  1. Install the extension from the VS Code Marketplace or OpenVSX.
  2. Or take the CLI from npm: package @continuedev/cli.
  3. See docs.continue.dev for configuration. Note: the repo is no longer maintained.

Steps are taken from the README. Check the current version in the repository before running them.
