spec-kit

Growing fastest

A toolkit for spec-driven development: principles and a spec first, then a plan and tasks, and only then code. Works with several coding agents.

Who it is for

For people who want to run an agent-built project through specs, not one-off prompts.

How to start

  1. You need Python 3.11+ and uv. Install: uv tool install specify-cli.
  2. Create a project: specify init my-project --integration copilot.
  3. In your agent run the chain: /speckit-constitution, /speckit-specify, /speckit-plan, /speckit-tasks, /speckit-implement.

Steps are taken from the README. Check the current version in the repository before running them.
