MCP server
Also: MCP server
A program that gives an agent tools, resources (data) and prompts over MCP. It can be local (stdio) or remote (Streamable HTTP).
Example
claude mcp add playwright -- npx -y @playwright/mcp@latest starts a local server through which the agent drives a browser.
