Hallucination

Also: hallucination · конфабуляция

A confident, plausible but wrong model answer: a function that doesn't exist, a made-up number or citation. The model doesn't “know” it's wrong.

Example

The agent calls a library method that doesn't exist in the installed version. Tests and type checks catch it at once; eyeballing the code doesn't.
