A wish is not a task

Your first day at Yavno agency. Sasha, the ops director, waves you over from a meeting room: "Come in, we'll get acquainted on the fly — something's on fire." On the table, a laptop with an AI chat open and a message from the team: "Slava's been generating a post for three hours, can't get it right." Sasha doesn't give a lecture. She opens the same chat Slava has been staring at: "Watch. In 15 minutes tell me what's wrong."

You'll walk out able to

  • Diagnose a request as a wish, not a task, even when the output looks polished
  • Name the four elements a task needs: audience, channel, constraint, action
  • Write a task-spec for a real task from your own week — with a checkable done-criterion
  • Compare two prompts and explain, in writing, why one is a lottery and the other isn't

You sit down at Slava's laptop. His chat history is open — here's what he's been doing for the last hour.

You just watched Slava's whole session. What's his actual problem?
